Wellbeing and Support - how to access some free assistance for health and kai
I sent the highlighted email below last week, but I wanted to add some more support info for your convenience. There are two areas of support in this email:
How to access, order and collect free RAT Tests
Where to access free food and where to go to forage for food
If you are symptomatic or a household contact or because you would like to have some at home (but you would need to say - you are symptomatic or have a household contact), you can now order rapid antigen tests (RATs) through the newly launched RAT requester site.

Free Hygiene Packs: I am hoping to have these ready for you to collect today when you collect your tamariki. Please drive through the car park today so that we can put these in your car as you drive through. Please be thoughtful and patient so that everyone has the opportunity to get a hygiene pack.
Free flu jabs for tamariki aged 3 to 12: Children aged 3 to 12 years old can get a free flu vaccination from their GP, healthcare provider or at most pharmacies from this Friday 1 July.
Free flu jabs for tamariki – Ministry of Health
Most tamariki aged 9 years and over need one vaccination each year to get good protection against flu.
If you have a child under 9 years old, talk to your healthcare provider as they may need one or two vaccinations depending on whether they’ve had a flu vaccine before.
If tamariki have recently had COVID-19 they can have a flu jab as soon as they’ve recovered.
Free COVID-19 Jabs: These continue to be available for now so please take advantage of these while you can, check out where your closest site is here, https://www.healthpoint.co.nz/covid-19-vaccination/waikato/.
COVID Reporting: Please complete this form if any of our students or any of them have a household contact that tests positive with COVID-19, 2022 W3 COVID Positive Notification.
Free Face Masks: We will be providing masks for as long as we can if any tamariki need or want a face mask.
Sick Tamariki: If your tamariki are sick, coughing, green emissions, tummy upsets or fever they MUST remain at home until they have 24 hours symptom free.
Hot Lunches: I am trying very hard to provide hot lunches up to three days a week this term, so keep your fingers crossed.
